GP24 weight management: video assessment and monthly doctor check-ins

GP24 runs a doctor-led weight-management service for Republic of Ireland patients: a 30-minute video assessment, then monthly check-ins if treatment starts. Prescriptions go by Healthmail to a pharmacy you nominate. Here is what it costs and how it works.

GLP-1.ie is independent. No provider pays us today, for a listing, a ranking or a referral. If that changes, this note will say so, and payment will never change the order or remove a safety warning.

How GP24's weight service works

You pay online, complete an emailed questionnaire, and GP24 calls you to book the assessment. In a 30-minute video consultation, the doctor takes a medical history, reviews your medicines and decides whether medicine is suitable. The doctor tells you after this consultation if blood tests are needed before treatment. If treatment starts, the prescription goes by Healthmail to your nominated pharmacy, and monthly check-ins review progress and renew it.

What it costs

The first consultation is €85 and each monthly check-in is €55. GP24 says check-ins are typically needed for the first three to six months while using medicine, and it will not issue repeat prescriptions without one. The medicine is paid for separately at the pharmacy.
