How Webdoctor's weight service works
You answer health questions, verify your identity and provide photos or measurements to assess your BMI; Webdoctor says requirements vary for new and returning patients. Its consultation page says injectable treatment needs height, weight and blood pressure confirmed on a form signed and stamped by a pharmacist, doctor or nurse. A Webdoctor GP reviews the information and may message you for more detail. If the doctor decides treatment is suitable, the prescription goes by Healthmail to the Irish pharmacy you choose. If you are unsure which route fits, Webdoctor suggests booking the video consultation, where a weight-management doctor discusses your history, goals and options. Repeat prescriptions on the video route come after the 12-week review, if clinically appropriate.
What it costs
The online request is €50. The 25-minute video consultation is listed at €90 and the 10-minute review at €55, so the video route comes to €145 in Webdoctor fees over the first 12 weeks, before the medicine. The weight page also shows a weight consultation from €55, so confirm the price on the booking screen. Webdoctor does not publish medicine prices.
Commercial disclosure in its terms
Webdoctor's terms say the software linking the service to its partner pharmacy network was built under a technical development agreement with a pharmaceutical company and that prescribing decisions are made independently by its clinicians. The terms also describe an optional anonymised data registry. You can read the clause in Webdoctor's terms and conditions.
