How HealthHero's weight-management service works
You complete a short questionnaire, then book a consultation with an IMC-registered GP. If treatment is appropriate, the GP sends the prescription electronically by Healthmail to a participating pharmacy in the Republic of Ireland. Before the first prescription is dispensed, the pharmacy validates your BMI by checking your weight, height and waist. You collect the medicine locally and pay the pharmacy for it, then return for follow-ups at weeks 5 and 12.
What it costs
The initial review and GP assessment costs €50 and each follow-up costs €35; HealthHero's page describes follow-ups at weeks 5 and 12. We do not publish a first-12-weeks total: HealthHero's page does not say whether those are the only visits in that period, so add the fees for the schedule your GP sets, before the medicine. Once you are established and stable, follow-ups drop to every three to six months. The pharmacy sets the medicine price, so ask it for a quote for your dose before you start.
Checks built into the route
A GP assesses you before anything is prescribed, and the pharmacy independently validates your BMI before the first dispense. You can also share a validated BMI from a pharmacy or GP practice for the consultation. Scheduled follow-ups review your progress and any side effects, and HealthHero says problems between appointments can be raised with its admin team, with clinical queries answered by its doctors.
